One American wedding custom is for the bride to throw her bouquet of flowers over her shoulder. All the single women gather to try to catch the bouquet. It is said that the one who catches it will be the next to marry.

(Actually, this custom seems to be going out of style. Naturally it is very old-fashioned.)

Anyway, I am wondering whether coger would be the word for "to catch" in this context. (And is tirar the right verb here for "to throw"?)

Also, I am assuming that el ramo is better than el ramillete for the bouquet. Is that right?

Thanks for all your help!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
